Surrounded on all sides by the Peak District National Park, Buxton is a natural base camp for visitors to the Peaks.
Buxton Visitor Centre operates from the Grade II listed Victorian Pump Room – a historic building purpose‑built in 1894 for visitors to “take the waters” – located opposite The Crescent and beside the famous St Ann’s Well.
Our dedicated staff have a wealth of knowledge about transport, walking routes, attractions and activities, and are always on hand to help you find hidden gems and make amazing memories – call, email, or visit us directly.

The water emerges at a constant 27.5° Celsius year round. Buxton’s water is the second warmest in Britain, after Bath’s.
The Natural Mineral Baths are operated by the Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel – please refer to their website for inquiries related to spa treatments.
Dogs are very welcome in the Pump Room and we always have complimentary dog treats at the Visitor Information desk.
Assistance dogs are allowed in the Buxton Crescent Experience and in the Assembly Rooms.
