Join us in Buxton Crescent’s opulent Assembly Rooms as we present an opportunity to connect with this unique historic space and to explore how mindfulness and writing go together.

This day-long workshop is aimed at writers, poets and anyone who is interested in the use of words at any stage in their practice – beginner, amateur or professional. It will use the historic setting of Buxton Crescent, recently restored and ready for exploration.

The session will explore how mindfulness can be a part of your writing practice, taking time to use our senses, be mindful and unlock creatively in this special place. By being mindful and present in a heritage environment, we will use the surroundings to inspire our writing. Together we will explore how slowing down and taking notice can recharge our creativity. The workshop is suitable for people who already practice mindfulness or complete beginners.

Steve Slack is a writer and creative workshop facilitator. They write about places and how people occupy them, often using mindful writing techniques to help him take notice of the world. They also wrote the text inside Buxton Crescent Heritage Experience.

A inviting vegan lunch will be served to all attendees in a private room at the historic No 6 tearooms, the original home and practice of Dr W.H.Robertson. Why not share this special and exclusive experience and book a place with a friend or group?

Arrival time is 9.30am for a 10am start, please bring a reusable cup for refreshments and treat yourself to a beautiful new notepad and pen.
