Half Term: Crescent Crafting
Learn about the architecture and design of the Georgian Buxton Crescent at our free family drop in activities in the Pump Room this half term. Carefully following instructions and using our ready made examples to guide you, by the end of your visit you'll be able to take away your own model of part of the famous Crescent. To be in with a chance to win a free family ticket (Up to two adults and 3 children) to the new Buxton Crescent Visitor Experience, simply take a picture of your work and upload it to social media with the hashtag #BuxtonCrescent to enter the prize draw! Winners will be announced on Friday 21st February!
If you have any questions, access requirements or requests, we’d be happy to help. Please call 07881 40 60 59 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Pump Room
Tuesday 18th February 2020
10.30am - 1.30pm Make and decorate your own paper Buxton Crescent model. Can you follow in Georgian architect John Carr's footsteps and create perfectly proportioned symmetrical splendour? Allow 30 minutes for the activity. At various times we'll be leading very short interactive tours to have a go at 'reading' the Buxton Crescent building - encouraging us to really look up and take notice. Times will be announced on the day subject to demand.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund these activities are free, but a donation to the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust would be welcome (if you are able).
Ages 5 and up (children must be supervised by an adult)
Not just for families, there's something for everyone.
