October Half Term Trails and Crescent Crafting

Monday 25th - Wednesday 27th October. After a very (very) long time away, we're back (hopefully for good) with half term family activities with The Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust. The Pump Room, 10.30am - 1pm Drop in crafts. No need to book, just turn up and get involved with a fab range of Crescent Crafts exploring Buxton's fascinating History. With Halloween at the end of the week, expect some ghoulish and grizzly twists. The Buxton Crescent Visitor Experience 1030am-4pm Bookable tours - with added Assembly Rooms visit. If you want to make a day of it, book your ticket to visit the Buxton Crescent Visitor Experience , for a special family-themed tour of 9 fun and interactive rooms in the Crescent. As a special half term extra, included in the price of your ticket will be a tricky halloween trail and a visit to the glorious Assembly Rooms Ballroom. Meet Lady Bridgewater or Lord Berresford, and find out how this magnificent ballroom was the centre of Buxton's high society from the late 18th to mid 19th Century. If you complete the trail and return it to the Pump Room, collect a creepy prize! Come in fancy dress, pose for a Pump Room picture, and share on Facebook tagging @BuxtonCrescentHeritageExperiences to be in with a chance to win a prize for your family!

The two domes you can see in this illustration of the original Pump Room were removed because they were too expensive to maintain!

Suitable for

Children from around 4 to 12 years old (siblings can help) with adult helpers. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult. Well behaved adults are welcome to join in!

Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th, and Wednesday 27th October. Drop in between 1030am and 1pm (Visitor experience trails from 1030am to 5pm) Craft Activities can take between 10 and 30 minutes and the Visitor Experience Tour and trail takes around 90 minutes.

We always aim to be as inclusive as possible, so these activities are free of charge. However, if you enjoy the craft activities, and are able to make a small donation per family (£1 to £3) it would help cover costs and support future work by the charity.

We have coffee, tea and water for sale at the Visitor Centre, and you're welcome to bring your own child-friendly drinks and snacks (we just ask that you try to keep things tidy, and take litter with you)

Unfortunately we don't have publicly-accessible toilets at the Pump Room, but the Pavillion Gardens, a 3 minute walk from here, has plenty. If you are visiting the Crescent Experience, there are toilets available for use during the tour.
