ASSEMBLY: Half Term Open Mornings at the Buxton Crescent

Monday 30th & Tuesday 31st May 10.30-12.30pm and 2pm-4pm 

Let’s bring the glorious Georgian Grandeur of the Assembly Rooms to life this May holiday, as we celebrate the holidays with fun and free open days

•Inspired by Queen’s Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee children can

• Create their own crown

. Design and make a tiara

We’ll also have our water-themed sensory bags for younger children to play with, dolls houses, a tea set and the ever popular LEGO.

Or, just come along for a chat, and simply enjoy being in the wonderful room!

Accessiblity

The Buxton Assembly Rooms are accessible by wheelchair (and buggies) with use of the lift (a volunteer will help you find your way!) There is space to park buggies and prams in the entrance hall.

Suitable for

EVERYONE! The arts and crafts activities are great for children from around 3 to 12 years old (siblings can help) with adult helpers. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult. Well behaved adults are welcome to join in!

Times

Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st 2022.

Drop in between 1030am and 12.30pm and 2pm-4pm.(Visitor experience trails from 11am to 5pm from Monday to Sunday!)

Craft Activities can take between 10 and 30 minutes and the Crescent Experience Tour takes around 90 minutes.

Cost

We always aim to be as inclusive as possible, so these activities are free of charge (except for the Crescent Experinece tours which are bookable tickets).

However, if you enjoy the craft activities, and are able to make a small donation per family (£3 suggested amount) it would help cover costs and support future work by the charity

Toilets

If you are visiting the Crescent Experience, there are toilets available for use - please ask a member of staff for assistance (we'll be wearing badges, and quite possibly dressed up as Georgians!)
