Authors Assemble!

All-day literary event

Friday 15th March 2024 10:30am - 4:00pm

The Assembly Rooms | The Crescent | SK17 6BH

Wheelchair friendly, accessible toilet, lift

Many will remember when the Assembly Rooms housed Buxton’s library from 1972 to 1992, when the Crescent sadly closed indefinitely. To celebrate the Crescent’s modern renaissance, we’re bringing the books back for one day only!

Join us on Friday 15th March 2024 for an all-day book bonanza, showcasing a variety of over 18 local authors and booksellers with their own stalls in the splendour of Buxton’s Georgian Assembly Rooms. Featuring book signings, meet-and-greets and more, participating authors will also deliver 15-minute live talks throughout the day, sharing stories from their careers and shedding light on their work.

From crime novelists to children’s authors, and historians to business coaches, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

£2.50 admission on entry, or book on this page.

Admission includes a free entry into our fabulous prize draw, with a selection of signed book prizes!

Entry is FREE for students of the University of Derby and Buxton & Leek College (please bring Student ID as proof of identity)
