2024: A year in review for
Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust
DID YOU KNOW?
In 2024 we helped make over 250 events happen (deep breath): There were balls, festivals, music recitals, fashion exhibitions, painting evenings, candle making workshops, art valuations, theatre, children’s activities, book launches, walking tours, fun palaces, promenades, headdress workshops, heritage open days, big quilts of water, time voyages, apprentice architects, local authors assembling, fringe events, business breakfasts, bumblebee hunts, stitching workshops, tales of cold war spies, D-Day heroes and Mary Queen of Scots. Open access days, crafting with vagabonds, teddies re-homed and Snowdogs being trailed. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. Phew.
We also welcomed an astonishing 136,000 visitors to the Pump Room, an eye-watering amount and up 14% from 2023.
Over 5,000 people enjoyed the Buxton CrescentExperience – up 5% from 2023. We also introduced sparkling tours with Prosecco. Next year we hope to do even better than this. Champagne and caviar tours anyone?
Over 1300 children and adults took part in creative family events. The buildings are still standing.
We also distributed thousands of copies of the BuxtonTown Guide, that’s a lot of boxes a week to unpack.
If you are inspired or excited by any of this, it’s very easy to support us. You can simply donate, be a sponsor, become a Friend or why not make a New Year commitment to join our fantastically supportive team? As a volunteer you get to work alongside the lovely Luke and the rest of the gang.
Just come and talk to us in the Pump Room or email us. We’re all very approachable and would love to hear from you.
