The Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of two new Trustees, Freya Needham and Dominic Marner. These strategic additions to the Board bring a wealth of expertise in heritage consultancy and academic history to the charity as it continues to champion the story of Buxton’s iconic Crescent and Buxton’s water story.
Freya Needham, who was born and raised in Buxton, joins the board bringing extensive professional experience in heritage consultancy. “Joining the Trust is a meaningful way for me to give something back to the town I call home,” says Needham. “I’m excited to support an organisation that champions Buxton’s story in a way that is fun, engaging, and accessible, whether through events, learning, or just a really good cuppa and slice of cake!”
Joining her is Dominic Marner, an esteemed art and architectural historian with a thirty-year academic career spanning the UK, Ireland, and Canada. Now permanently settled in Buxton, Marner brings a deep enthusiasm for public engagement and academic leadership to the Trust. “The thermal spa at Buxton has been central to the history of the town’s art and architecture, medical and restorative past, as well as its cultural and economic development,” says Marner. “I am thrilled to join the Trust’s team to help promote and support the thermal spa town of Buxton.”
