The New Year marks the appointment of a new senior member of the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust management team, with locally based Alison Gray joining as Communications and Marketing Manager.
Alison brings a distinguished marketing career spanning nearly four decades. Alongside extensive experience in the tourism sector – both in the UK and overseas – she has worked across a wide range of industries, including Retail, training and personal development, wellbeing, public transport, and business support services. Her background includes senior roles within major corporate environments such as The Co-operative Group and East Midlands Chamber, as well as more recent work supporting the small business sector. This breadth of experience brings valuable insight as the Trust continues to pursue its ambitions and deliver its plans for 2026 and beyond.
Alison said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust and am looking forward to sharing my passion for effective communication, collaboration and planning. Through involvement in one of the Trust’s community initiatives, I have gained a deeper understanding of their work and its value to the local community, schools, visitors and tourists alike.” She added: “I’m excited to help shape how we can continue to share their story. There’s huge potential to grow audiences, strengthen the brand, and continue to showcase Buxton as a destination with history, heart, and ambition. I look forward to supporting the team and helping to build on their already impressive achievements.”

Simon Wallwork, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “This is an exciting time for the Trust, and Alison’s appointment strengthens our ability to reach new audiences and build on recent successes. Her experience and energy will play a key role in shaping the next chapter.”
The Trust’s priorities include bringing to life the rich history embedded within Buxton through a successful programme of engaging and interactive events, talks, balls and themed festivals for all ages, as well as showcasing the town and its history by visiting the Buxton Crescent Experience. The Pump Room also provides valuable information to tourists and locals alike.
