Our interactive tours are hosted by knowledgeable and friendly guides who help visitors to delve into the fascinating hidden histories of the town, hear in-depth stories and discover how the town and the wonderful Crescent building came to exist.
Whether you are a coach operator, tour operator, WI, U3A, society or club you’ll learn about the history of the area and the Crescent, explore the culture of Georgian Buxton, experience a hot-air balloon ride in virtual reality, and have your ailments cured by an 18th century apothecary. The experience concludes following rainwater on a 5000-year journey through the Peak District hills before it emerges at a constant 27.5°C at the thermal springs beneath your feet…

Standard Package
A 90-minute fun and fact-filled experience through nine themed rooms inside the beautiful Grade-I Listed Georgian Crescent. Explore a period spanning millennia, discover the history of Buxton, its famous water, the Crescent, and the countless people throughout history who came here to seek the miracle cure.
Buxton’s mineral springs are among the purest in the world. It is naturally filtered through Derbyshire limestone for thousands of years, settling around one mile underground before the warmth of the Earth’s core forces it upwards, emerging tasteless and odourless at St. Ann’s Well beside the Pump Room.

Christmas Crescent Experience & Palace Hotel Festive Group Visits
Celebrate the festive season with a memorable group gathering. Enjoy a guided tour of The Buxton Crescent Experience with our friendly hosts, followed by a relaxed Christmas meal at the beautifully decorated Palace Hotel.
Chose from a Crescent Experience guided group tour combined with festive afternoon tea (including a glass of sparkling wine) for only £32 or combine with a delicious 3-course carvery Christmas lunch for £35 per person.

The Pump Room
After the experience concludes, stroll over the road to the Grade-II Listed Victorian-era Pump Room, where the water emerges at the marble well at the end of its 5000-year journey. Groups receive a 10% discount on a range of gifts, souvenirs and local goods. The Pump Room is a unique venue with licensed bar which can provide a special location for exclusive group events – get in touch for more information.
Group Booking Information
Group tours must be booked 14 days in advance to qualify for reduced tour rates. Groups of between 16 and 50 can be accommodated over a single booking and entry time. Groups of 50+ will have staggered entry times to due limits on venue capacity. Please speak to our Group Bookings Manager to discuss your requirements.
Cancellation and Payment Policy
Once you have confirmed a date, number in party, and preferred tour type, we will book you in and send you a Booking Confirmation.
Payment can be made in full via invoice or on arrival on the day of your visit. We can accept card, cash or cheque payments for group bookings, with cheques made payable to ‘Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust’. We politely request that payment be made in one amount, rather than split into individual payments by each visitor.
Refunds will be given in full for visits cancelled up to 7 days before your visit.
Drop off and pick up details for coach drivers
It is possible to drop off and pick up from an area adjacent to The Crescent (SK17 6BH) and opposite The Pump Room (please note drop off area is subject to availability). Once drop off has been completed coaches should be moved to Sylvan Gardens coach park (SK17 6BY) a 7-minute walk from the Pump Room. Drivers are welcome to join the tour free of charge or enjoy a complimentary coffee while relaxing in the Pump Room.
