PREVIOUS EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

200 years of Fashion

with Notty Hornblower & Hope House Costume Museum

Hope House Costume Museum presented ‘200 Years of Fashion’ in the Assembly Rooms of the beautiful Buxton Crescent.

We joined curator Notty Hornblower from Hope House Costume Museum and her models, as they took us on a journey of fashion through the decades. Modelling some of Nottys sensational 3000 pieces, the show  started with the opulence of Georgian fashion. The evening  took us through the simplicity of the Regency era, the full embellishment of Victorian times followed by ‘S’ shaped Edwardian dresses. Then stop in the iconic 1920’s showcasing its stunning beadwork, the dropped hemlines of the 1930’s, the make-do and mend era of the 1940’s, then move into the 1950’s enjoying the revival of glamour thanks to Christian Dior’s New Look..

Regency Ball 2022

with Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust

A wonderful evening of Regency music and dancing, refreshments and frivolity, taking guests back through time to Buxton’s Georgian heyday.

Guests were asked to dress in Regency costume or black tie and ball-gown, to add to the unique atmosphere and honour the occasion. top hats, feathers, fans and fantastic frocks were Expected!

Pigeon Post

with Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust's Learning Team

Cozy Christmas fun for families with children.

It was a cold, damp December night but Parkin and Pip were excited to be on their way.

They had heard all about the Crescent in Buxton from their friends who had already moved there and it sounded wonderful! Dark and drafty with broken windows and no humans, it was everything they had dreamed of.

The perfect place to bring up their family…
