It is with a very heavy heart that, in line with the full lockdown announced by the Government over the weekend, we will be closing the doors of the Visitor Centre in the Pump Room and the Visitor Experience in the Crescent at the end of the day on Wednesday 4th November.
Tickets for Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th are still valid, and ticket holders who were due to visit after this date have been contacted about their options for rescheduling or refunding their bookings with us.
Opening a brand-new heritage visitor attraction in the current climate has been incredibly challenging for our team, and we would like to thank all the staff, trustees, funders and supporters who have made it possible. We have been able to enjoy a fantastic first few weeks open and welcomed some lovely ‘bubbles’ of visitors from Buxton and beyond.
The past few weeks have demonstrated some very important things to us: The commitment of the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support the Heritage sector through these difficult times; The hard work and resilience of our staff; the understanding, good humour and patience of our wonderful visitors, and the very great excitement and optimism around the future of the Buxton Crescent.
We’ve had fantastic feedback from visitors, who have praised the imaginative, creative and interactive nature of the heritage experience. As well, our guests have appreciated the effort and consideration put into making visits covid-safe and enjoyable at the same time.
Of course, we will be following government announcements carefully, and expect to be in a position to announce reopening plans at the start of December. We will be back as soon as we are able, and we are already looking forward to welcoming visitors to to our special Crescent Experience, Pump Room Visitor Centre, and the future events in the Assembly Rooms.
Yours sincerely,
Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust
